SYNOPSIS

This class will include a Q&A and a PREPARED READING session with an experienced casting professional.

Please prepare a scene or monologue 2 minutes or less from FILM/TV that you feel best showcases your work.  

A reader will be available on ZOOM during the class. 

All actors  will need to email a PDF. of their chosen scene to castingaccess@sagaftra.foundation for the reader by 9:00am PST on September 14th. The subject needs to be Casting Access- D. Lynn Meyers.  The body of the email MUST include the role that the reader will be reading if you are doing a scene.

CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

D. Lynn Meyers is in her 25th season as the Producing Artistic Director of Ensemble Theatre, where she

has directed over 100 world and regional premieres, including Fun Home, Frog Princess, Ripcord, Hands on

a Hardbody, Detroit ’67, I Am My Own Wife, Next to Normal, and world premieres including Cinderella,

After Ever After, James and Annie, and The Dancing Princesses. She has directed Off-Broadway at the York

Theatre with Marsha Norman’s Traveler in the Dark and James McClure’s Max and Maxie. Lynn has

directed extensively throughout the US and Canada and began her career as the Associate Artistic

Director at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. In addition to her directing work, she is a member of the

Casting Society of America, having cast for PBS, CBS, BBC, HBO, MTM, Paramount, Netflix and MGM.

Lynn’s favorite feature credits include serving as Location Casting Director for The Shawshank Redemption

and recently Dark Waters,Carol, Miles Ahead, The Goat, The Public and Old Man With The Gun. Lynn was

a named one of four finalists for the Zelda Fichandler National Award in 2011, is a past recipient of the

YWCA Career Woman of Achievement Award, and is the 2018 Rosa F. and Samuel B. Sachs Prize Award

winner—honoring outstanding accomplishments in the arts. Lynn was honored in 2019 with a national

board appointment to the Stage Directors and Choreogrphers Society (SDC).


REQUIREMENTS

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.

Please note that the 90-day frequency restriction applies to this workshop. Your last frequency-restricted workshop must have taken place no less than 90 (ninety) days prior to this event to be eligible to register.

Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will receive a link inviting them to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be sent the link to join the class.
