SYNOPSIS

This class will include a Q&A and a PREPARED READING session with an experienced casting professional.

Actors will select their own scenes  or monologues for this class. Scenes/monologues can be from film, television, or plays. The scenes should be age, race, and type appropriate. Michael would like to see how you would likely be cast so choose a scene that works the best for you. Scenes should be no more than 2 pages in length. 

A reader will be available on ZOOM during the class. 

All actors  will need to email a PDF. of their chosen scene to castingaccess@sagaftra.foundation for the reader by 9:00am PST | 12:00pm EST on December 7th. The subject needs to be Casting Access - Michael Donovan. The body of the email MUST include the role that the reader will be reading. 


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

Michael is the recipient of 9 Artios awards, presented by the Casting Society of America for Outstanding Achievement in casting.  He has cast more than 1,000 shows produced at such venues as the Hollywood Bowl, the Ahmanson Theatre, the Mark Taper Forum, Pasadena Playhouse, the Kirk Douglas Theatre, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Laguna Playhouse, International City Theatre, Ebony Repertory Theatre, the El Portal Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, the Getty Villa, the Ricardo Montalban Theatre, the Garry Marshall Theatre, the Theatre @ Boston Court, the Soraya Performing Arts Center, the 24thSt. Theatre, San Francisco Symphony, the Palazzo and Paris in Las Vegas, Arizona Theatre Company, Arkansas Rep, Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, Indiana Rep, Totem Pole Playhouse, the Alliance Theatre, and the Troubadour Wembley Park in London – as well as several national tours,  numerous films, TV series and commercials. Michael is the President of the Board for the Foundation for New American Musicals, and also serves on the board for Camp Bravo.


REQUIREMENTS

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.

Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will receive a link inviting them to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be sent the link to join the class.
