SYNOPSIS

This in-person class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with an experienced casting professional.

A scene or monologue of your choice from film, tv, or theatre two minutes in length or less.  A reader will be available during the class. 

All actors will need to email a PDF of their chosen scene or monologue to castingaccess@sagaftra.foundation for the reader by 5pm EST/2am PST on Wednesday, June 7th. The subject needs to be Casting Access - Rachel Reiss.  The body of the email MUST include the role that the reader will be reading if you are doing a scene.

This class is geared toward performers based in LA and non-New York based actors.


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

RACHEL REISS, CSA is a senior casting director at Liz Lewis Casting Partners where she casts Film, TV, Commercials, Podcasts, Animation and VO nationwide. 

Her recent credits include Get Rolling with Otis on Apple TV, SuperKitties on Disney Jr. and films A Year and Change, All Wifed Out, Lady-Like, The Painter, and King of Knives. She has cast hundreds of commercials and voice-overs, including many that have been recognized with Clio Awards and Cannes Lion Awards. Recent podcasts include This Job is History and I Hear Fear with Wondery and Killer Questions with Investigation Discovery.

Rachel was honored as the 2019 and 2022 Heller Awards Recipient for Best Northeast Commercial and VO Casting. And she was recently awarded the 2023 Artios Award for Best Casting of a Short Film for "The F Word." Rachel sits on the Board of Directors for the Casting Society of America as the VP of Technology.


REQUIREMENTS

All members must show a valid SAG-AFTRA card when they check in for the class.  No admittance will be granted without your current card or receipt.

NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.

Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone.  Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time.  If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
