BIOS:

BESS FIFER: As an award-winning independent casting director with a decade and a half of experience, Bess Fifer has played a key role in shaping numerous careers across film and television. Her commitment to authentic, diverse, and inclusive casting has made her an in-demand collaborator on both ground-breaking independent features and hugely popular television shows. 

Bess is one of the Emmy Nominated Casting Directors of SEVERANCE for Apple+. Other credits include the Emmy Nominated Series IT’S BRUNO (Netflix) for which she won the 2020 Artios Award for Excellence in Casting – Short Form Series. Other recent projects include Dan Schechter’s new feature AFTER CLASS, and the independent feature LINGUA FRANCA, which premiered as part of the 2019 Venice Film Festival. Prior features include SXSW’s 2017 Audience Award Winner THE LIGHT OF THE MOON, POTTERSVILLE (Netflix), and THE HUMBLING starring Al Pacino and helmed by legendary Writer/Director/Producer Barry Levinson. Soon to be released projects include WHAT BREAKS THE ICE, THE GOD COMMITTEE, and THE ATLANTIC CITY STORY. 

Associate Casting Director work includes the Emmy Nominated Showtime Series ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA as well as 2014’s THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY with Rachel Tenner Casting, both directed by Ben Stiller, Seasons 1 and 2 of MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL as well as Season 1 of LUKE CAGE, with Julie Schubert Casting, and acting as the New York Casting Associate on Season 1 of STRANGER THINGS with Carmen Cuba Casting. Bess also had the pleasure of working with the legendary Peter Bogdanovich on SHE'S FUNNY THAT WAY with Jen Rudin Casting. 

ELLEN LEWIS grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and started her career in Casting working for Juliet Taylor for 8 1/2 years. Ellen has had the pleasure of working with Martin Scorsese for 34 years and counting,  working on such films as Goodfellas, The Age of Innocence, Casino, Kundun, Gangs of  New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Hugo, Boardwalk Empire (pilot), The Wolf of Wall Street, Vinyl (pilot), Silence, The Irishman, and upcoming Killers of The Flower  Moon. 

Ellen’s other credits include: Scent of A Woman, A League Of Their Own, Postcards  From The Edge (co-cast), Forrest Gump, The Birdcage (co-cast), The Fan, Big Night,  Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai, Changing Lanes, Angels In America (HBO film), 13 Going On 30 (co-cast), Broken Flowers, The Devil Wears Prada, Infamous, Charlie  Wilson’s War, Mamma Mia!, Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead, Revolutionary Road,  Her, The Leftovers (pilot), Bridge of Spies, Paterson (co-cast), Ready Player One, The  Post, Godless (Netflix limited series), The Dead Don’t Die, Bad Education (HBO film),  and The Queen’s Gambit (Netflix limited series).  

In 2006, Ellen received the NY Women in Film & Television Muse Award and in 2015, she received the Hoyt Bowers Award from the Casting Society of America. Ellen has  been nominated for 6 Emmy Awards and won for Angels in America (co-cast),  Boardwalk Empire, and The Queen’s Gambit (co-cast). She has been nominated for 21 Artios awards and has won 6 for A League of Their Own, Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf of Wall Street, Godless, Bad Education, and The Queen’s Gambit.

JULIE SCHUBERT is an Emmy winning casting director based in New York. Select film and TV credits include: 'House of Cards' (Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting); 'Night Comes On' (Sundance award winning feature), 'Deliver Us From Evil'; Marvel's 'The Punisher'; Marvel's 'Daredevil'; Marvel's 'Jessica Jones'; Marvel's 'Luke Cage'; Marvel's 'Iron Fist'; Marvel's 'The Defenders'; 'Mindhunter'; 'Confessions of a Shopaholic,' among others. Recent premieres of her include Netflix's 'The Diplomat' and Hulu's 'Saint X.'

KRISTIAN CHARBONIER is a New York based Television, Film and Theatre Casting Director. Selected credits include: THEATER CAMP, MEAN GIRLS (Paramount), TICK, TICK… BOOM! (Netflix), IN THE HEIGHTS, DEAR EDWARD (Apple TV+), UP HERE (Hulu), SCHMIGADOON (Apple TV+). Kristian assisted on the original Broadway casts of THE CHER SHOW, MEAN GIRLS and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS. He is a graduate of Florida State University’s School of Theatre.
