This in-person class will include a Q&A and an prepared reading session with NY based casting professional, Emily Rucker.

Participating actors will be asked to prepare scenes assigned by the casting professional ahead of class.  


Emily Rucker is a casting professional based out of Brooklyn, NY. She is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University and while in school she began her casting career by interning with casting directors Judy Henderson (Homeland) and Mark Saks (The Good Fight, Madam Secretary) as well as with CBS Network Primetime Casting. Currently, she works as a Casting Assistant most often with Casting Directors Douglas Aibel and Stephanie Holbrook. Some of her recent credits include Season 3 of Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, the Apple series Hello Tomorrow! starring Billy Crudup, Season 1 of Outer Range starring Josh BrolinRay Romano's directorial debut Somewhere in Queens (premiered at Tribeca Film Festival), Season 3 & 4 of The Sinner, the upcoming Peacock series Long Bright River, the Max project B-Loved starring Peyton List and Michael Cimino, and other independent film projects

Some of her Casting Director credits include the feature film The Ballad of Suzanne Césaire (premiering in the Tiger Competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam) as well as short films Ana Wa Enti (Athena Film Festival, New Faces New Voices Film Festival, Toronto Arab Film Festival), It Might As Well Be Spring, My PTSD Will Never Win Best Picture, Daughter of Wands, Confetti (written/directed by Spencer Grammer)FLOSS, I Have Love in Me, If I Die In America, Backwash, and Peas.


NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.

Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone.  Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time.  If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
