SYNOPSIS

This online class will provide feedback from an experienced casting professional.

Participating actors will prepare and self-tape a scene or monologue of their choice from film or tv.  Actors should be prepared to receive a re-direct and perform live in class after viewing their tape.

CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

Missy Finnell earned her B.A. in Directing and Producing from Point Park University in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. During her years there, she learned the importance of merging both the artistic and practical, which is what led her to casting. In 2009 she joined Donna Belajac's office as a casting assistant working on the 20th Century Fox film, Love & Other Drugs. Between casting work, Missy joined the local IATSE Costume Department, and after 4 years, became the first union Costume Coordinator in Pittsburgh. In 2013 she pivoted to producing and joined the Project Greenlight docuseries, The Chair, as an Associate Producer.

In 2014, she came back to Donna Belajac Casting full-time, where she has worked on over 50 commercial, film, and television projects. In 2020 she joined the Casting Society of America as an Associate Casting Director and has since been nominated for four Artios Awards.

Missy's journey is marked by a deep passion for her craft. Whether it's discovering new talent, contributing to groundbreaking projects, or championing union initiatives, Missy has a deep commitment to excellence and looks forward to bringing her talents to new and challenging projects.

She currently lives in Pittsburgh with her husband John and their miniature schnauzer, Indiana "Indy" Jones.
