SYNOPSIS
This class will include a Q&A with LA based Casting Director Paul Weber, followed by a prepared work session.
Participating actors will choose, prepare and perform sides from film or television.

BIO
As the former in-house head of casting and consulting executive for television and motion pictures for MGM Studios for 16 years, Paul Weber notably cast several critically acclaimed series, such as the STARGATE franchise, SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA, OUTLANDER, DEAD LIKE ME, SHE SPIES, POLTERGEIST, THE OUTER LIMITS, and many more. These series have garnered numerous honors including an impressive 21 Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Weber also cast and advised on numerous MGM features, including one of the most successful franchises of all time, JAMES BOND, as well as many blockbuster films such as Joss Whedon’s CABIN IN THE WOODS, RED DAWN with Chris Hemsworth, ZOOKEEPER with Kevin James, HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, FAME, ROBOCOP, and more.
After Weber’s tenure with MGM, Weber and Assoc. Casting launched a production company with his producing partners, One on the Way Productions. Weber’s passion and purpose as a casting director and executive producer is to focus on developing and producing independent feature films and providing diverse opportunities in the new digital media space.
Weber currently casts and attaches star talent for top projects for NETFLIX, HULU, STARZ, A&E, WGN and LIFETIME He is also a consultant for several U.S., Canadian and European production companies, studios and networks.
Weber has a slate of projects in pre-production, post production or currently making their theatrical premieres. Titles include THE CURSE OF BUCKOUT ROAD, a supernatural thriller released in 2022. CRY FROM THE SEA starring Dominic Cooper and Aiden Quinn currently in production in Ireland, THE ISLAND BETWEEN TIDES, starring Donal Logue, filmed in British Columbia, Canada, and the film adaptation of R.L. Stine’s critically acclaimed children’s novel ZOMBIE TOWN, starring Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase, making its theatrical premiere in Sept, 2023 followed by a premier on Hulu in October 2023.
Weber is also the casting executive for the wildly popular immersive national stage production of THE QUEEN’S BALL: A BRIDGERTON EXPERIENCE for Netflix. Weber is long standing member of the Casting Society of America and the Writers Guild of America, has served on the host committee for the annual Academy Awards, and is a recent judge for the Emmy Awards.
Coaching and giving back to actors and the entertainment community is important to Weber, which lead him to creating his sought after “Art of the Audition, Business of the Art, audition techniques class. Weber has taught at prestigious Liberal Arts Colleges and Universities all over the world. His teachings and lectures have taken him to Canada, London, Barcelona, Berlin, Rome, Warsaw, Prague, Zagreb, Lisbon, Sydney, Australia, South Africa and Cyprus.
Weber also speaks as an honored guest at top universities here in the states and teaches his mastery level audition class at prestigious institutions including USC, UCLA, Loyola Marymount, the University of Texas, Austin, University of Virginia, University of Connecticut, University of Arizona and Santa Fe College, Florida.
He is also a regular guest instructor at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, and has been a guest speaker for the Rising Stars Program at the Toronto International Film Festival, as well as the prestigious SXSW Film Festival panel representing Film Casting Directors.
Originally from Connecticut, Weber makes Los Angeles his home.

NO LATE ARRIVALS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
Cancellations are required by the specified cancellation date for that class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone. Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a 90-day ineligibility period. DO NOT BE LATE. Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time. If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
Attendance for the entirety of the class is required or it will be counted as a no-show.
The use of any type of gun or weapon props are prohibited in classes.
