SYNOPSIS

MIAMI, FLORIDA - This Casting Access Online workshop is only available to 20 SAG-AFTRA performers in Miami. 

This workshop includes:

- 30 minute Q&A moderated by Ellen Wacher, Committee Chair of Miami Women's Committee

- 60-90 minute mini MONOLOGUE workshop. 

Attendees MUST PREPARE A 2 MINUTE OR LESS, TV/FILM MONOLOGUE. Sides will NOT be provided. 

THE ENTIRE WORKSHOP WILL BE FACILITATED OVER SKYPE. 

YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO MEET AT THE VENUE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SKYPE WORKSHOP. 


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

Liz Ortiz-Mackes is owner of I Ain't Playin’ Films and Casting Solutions. Indie film producer and Casting Director credited on projects which have screened at hundreds of US and International film festivals including: Sundance, Toronto, Palm Springs, HBO Latino, Urban World, Slam Dance, Berlin, Hamptons, South Africa, Costa Rica, Martha’s Vineyard, Famous Monsters of Film Land among others, and have aired on HBO, Showtime and Cinemax.

Co-producer and cast Advantageous (world premier Sundance 2015) with Ken Jeong of The Hangover 1,2 & 3, and Jennifer Ehle of 50 Shades of Grey and Zero Dark Thirty, Lost Revolution, with Oscar winner Melissa Leo and Aaron Stanton (Mad Men, The Nanny Diaries), Short films of note: The Bravest, The Boldest, Crazy Beats Strong Every Time & Pop Foul, by acclaimed director Moon Molson (all official Sundance selections), Television: Six Episodes of Monsters Inside Me for Animal Planet, Garabatos a pilot for Sinamaica Productions, Soul Dancer a PSA for the Wildlife Foundation directed by Oscar winner Igor Martinovic, Co-Producer & Casting for Act Your Age, a Latino-centric comedy feature in development by producing partner Lizbett Perez. Current attachments are Rick Najera, Jose Yenque, Teresa Yenque, Cemi Guzman and Coati Mundi as Music Supervisor.

Was director of Artists Files On Line at the Non-Traditional Casting Project, director of Special Events at the Dramatists Guild, a SAG and Equity franchised talent agent on both coasts; Author of the highly acclaimed book "Ace Your Acting Audition," published by S.O.M.E. productions; was on the faculty of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and New York Film Academy. Currently an instructor and private coach for the Performing Option and conducts monthly workshops for the SAG/AFTRA Foundation.

Liz is a native New Yorker, lives in Manhattan with her husband, two sons and is proud to experience motherhood as both an adoptive and biological parent.

Moderator: Ellen Wacher has been the VP of the Miami Local for the last 7 years. As Co-chair of the Legacy SAG National Women's Committee, Ellen organized the first national live stream of Women Over 50 - focused on how they can be more successful in the industry. Ellen is the Chair of the Miami Local Women’s Committee. She has performed in various theatrical plays in Florida. Ellen is the creator/producer of Pigs Do Fly Productions, a theater company whose plays center around the mission of highlighting the actor over 50 as a viable, fully involved, active character engaged in life.
The Miami Local Women’s Committee focus is women’s activities and events that enhance the careers of women and make them better performers to open more doors for job opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

You do NOT have to complete a Casting Access Application in order to participate in this Casting Access workshop in Miami.
