SYNOPSIS

Have you ever been in an audition where you’re handed a piece of complex copy only a medical scientist could pronounce and then had to deliver two good contrasting takes where you actually sound like you know what you’re talking about? Have you ever been hired to record a commercial disclaimer that moves at the speed of light and wonder how you’ll managed to fit in all that copy in under 15 seconds? Have you ever been absolutely stumped by a piece of copy, no matter what the length, and hit a wall trying to deliver a good audition or better yet, a great session?

Then Impossible Copy is for you! This seminar is geared towards the working VO actor or the advanced student who wants to take their skills to the next level. There is a way to breeze through these challenges and this seminar will help you do it. Working VO actors Joan Bogden and Sara Krieger have had their share of these challenging sessions and invite you to discover the tricks of the trade.

This workshop will end at 9:30 p.m.

INSTRUCTOR BIOS

Sara Krieger

Sara Krieger has worked steadily in voiceovers for the past twenty plus years. She successfully transitioned from a long career in music that included gigs at the Blue Note clubs in New York and Japan, Jazz festivals, and Carnegie Hall (most notably as one of the original members of New York Voices).  What was originally intended to be a supplementary move to voiceovers evolved into a full time and well regarded career.

Sara has recorded accounts for Estee Lauder, Thermasilk, Orencia, HGTV, Fox TV, Bloomberg Radio and countless others. For the past seven years, she has worked steadily for Late Night with David Letterman, as one of his monologue “skit voices.”

Sara is also an accomplished voiceover coach. In addition to teaching privately, she has also taught many courses for SAG-AFTRA’s “Business of the Biz” series, of which she was a co-creator. In addition, she is a regular contributor to the EIF Voiceover Lab of the SAG Foundation.

Joan Bogden

Referred to by TV Guide as “one of the top voices in the country,” Joan Bogden has voiced or filmed thousands of TV commercials and corporate presentations. As a voiceover coach, Joan has trained hundreds of professional voice artists on both coasts and has led many popular SAG-AFTRA seminars that cover working in commercial voiceover and corporate and educational media, as well as the psychological and business aspects of the acting profession.
