SYNOPSIS

This workshop will include a Q&A and a cold reading session with an experienced casting professional.


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

Howard  Meltzer is a veteran Casting Director whose career spans from Broadway to Television to Film. He recently completed casting the pilots "Bunk'd", "Best Friends Whenever", and “Fairest of the Mall”, for Disney Channeland is currently casting Season 4
o fLab Rats(the #1 show on Disney XD) but probably is best known for casting 100 episodes of the hit Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana", which made Miley Cyrus a household name. In addition, Howie discovered a young Demi Lovato in Texas and brought her to the attention of Disney Channel. In addition, Howie cast the pilot "Girl Meets World" and the Wizards of Wavely Place: Reunion TV Movie for Disney Channel. Howie has worked with Endemol USA as both a Casting Director and as a Consultant on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", "Wipeout", "Deal or No Deal", "Fear Factor: Celebrity Edition", "Queen Bees" and "Estate of Panic."

Based in Los Angeles, he has worked for Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers Television, 20th Century Fox, Dreamworks, Paramount, Sony, NBC Universal, CBS and FBC. Feature Films include: Lonely Boy, The Impossible (USA Casting).

Originally from NYC, he cast the Broadway productions: The Graduate, Fortune’s Fool, Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, Elaine May’s Taller Than A Dwarf, Honour, Epic Proportions, Annie Get Your Gun (Revival), Fosse, Chicago(Revival), Annie (1997 Revival), Grease (1998 Revival) to name a few.

Howie is a former Governor for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and, a former Vice President of the Casting Society of America.

Nominated 18 times for the prestigious Artios Award for casting and has won twice.

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this workshop.

Please note that the 90-day frequency restriction applies to this workshop. Your last frequency-restricted workshop must have taken place no less than 90 (ninety) days prior to this event to be eligible to register. Also, should you register for more than one (1) frequency-restricted workshop at a time, the higher-placing workshop registration will be retained and all others will be deleted.

NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
