SYNOPSIS

The SAG Foundation’s Los Angeles Short Film Showcase is a cinematic celebration of new projects designed to encourage performers to create their own short films and web series.

Held twice a year, in April and August at our Los Angeles Actors Center, the showcase not only features a shorts program, but includes a Q&A and reception with the films’ directors, producers and actors present at the screening.


FILMS

DANNY AND THE WILD BUNCH - Robert Rugan, writer, director
A children’s book author is told that her new manuscript needs to be “darker”, but when her revisions piss off the characters in the book, they come back to make some changes of their own.

JOY - Solomon Onita Jr., writer, director, editor
A Nigerian woman living in America, struggles to convince her traditionalist husband not to circumcise their ten-year-old daughter.

MUTED - Brandi Ford, writer, producer
The Gladwells struggle to get the support of media and law enforcement when their teenage daughter disappears.

PRISM - Jackson Miller, director
Dan Warner is a desaturator, tasked with sapping beauty from the world in a future where Color is used as energy.

SHELTER - RJ Daniel Hanna, writer, director, editor
A female prison inmate works to socialize a dog deemed unfit for adoption at a local animal shelter.
