SYNOPSIS

Nominated for Grand Jury Prize, Sundance Film Festival

A family finds their dull life in a rural outback town rocked after their two teenage children disappear into the desert, sparking disturbing rumors of their past.

Kim Farrant, director
Kim’s recently premiered her first feature drama Strangerland starring Nicole Kidman, Hugo Weaving, Joseph Fiennes at the Sundance Film Festival in World Dramatic competition 2015. The film sold within 24 hours to Alchemy and will be released in the US in July.

Kim is now attached to direct a UK psychological thriller Hush Money for Michael Winterbottom’s Revolution Films and is also attached to direct a US drama called The Evel in Me.

Kim has made feature documentaries, the critically acclaimed Naked on the Inside; numerous shorts including; Between Me, Bombshell, Alias, Sammy Blue; episodic network TV –Rush
(Endemol/Ten); and TV documentaries The Secret Side of Me and Out of the Saddle. Kim began as an actor training with Eric Morris in LA then completed 'The Journey' at the Actors
Centre, Sydney.

She then graduated from AFTRS (alumni - Jane Campion, Gillian Armstrong) with a Master of Arts (Honours) in Directing. Kim has taught directing and acting for camera at AFTRS, Sydney Film School, VCA, Swinburne, Open Channel and 16th Street Actors Studio. She is currently based in LA, represented by Gersh in the US and RGM in Australia.
