All prospective volunteers are required to attend a Reader Workshop. Entire volunteer application must be processed before attending. Volunteers cannot be placed in a school until their application is processed and they attend a Reader Workshop.
The Reader Workshop prepares both new and veteran volunteers for a successful classroom performance. The workshop features an effective classroom management technique, tips for selecting great stories to read aloud, and instructions for logging volunteer service hours. Read aloud demonstrations and refreshments will also be provided.
Volunteers must present union card for admittance to Reader Workshop.
