Please BRING along your favorite CHILDREN'S PICTURE BOOK for training purposes. There will also be books on hand at the workshop for demonstrations.
SAG-AFTRA Foundation BookPALS Reader Workshops are open to SAG-AFTRA and AEA members only, unless otherwise specified.
All prospective BookPALS volunteers are required to attend a Reader Workshop.
Volunteers do not qualify for a Reader Workshop until application and supporting documents are processed.
Volunteers will be placed in a school/classroom after their application has been processed and they have attended a Reader Workshop.
Union Member volunteers must present their valid SAG-AFTRA or AEA ID card (or your receipt of current payment) for admittance.
The SAG-AFTRA office building (350 Sansome Street, Ste. 900) requires that you sign in and out at the reception area on the ground floor. It is advised to take public transportation as parking is expensive and limited downtown. Take Bart or Muni to Montgomery Station and walk to office (10 minutes tops). Building is on Sansome between Sacramento and California.
Limited street and garage parking available for a fee. Pls. mapquest area for directions as SF SAG-AFTRA office (350 Sansome Street) is in the heart of downtown which is congested. Nearest parking lots are available at Central Parking (345 California St.); Ace Parking (550 California St.); and Parking (475 Sansome St.) The SAG-AFTRA Foundation or Union does not validate parking. Pls. allow plenty of time for parking.
When you register for a BookPALS Reader Workshop, you are expected to stay for its entirety. The workshop is 90 minutes long.
There is no food or drink allowed in the SAG-AFTRA Foundation BookPALS Classroom. Only bottled water.
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation reserves the right to refuse admission or service to anyone.
