SYNOPSIS

Presented annually by the Casting Society of America, the Artios Award is one of the most prestigious honors a casting director can receive. An ancient Greek word meaning “perfectly fitted,” the Artios celebrates excellence in casting film, television, and theater.  Nomination criteria includes originality, creativity, and the contribution of casting to the overall quality of the project.  Join us for an evening with 2017 Artios nominees to learn about their process for casting perfect fits, and invaluable best practices for actors.

PANELISTS

Rori Bergman | Rori Bergman Casting
Rori is an Artios Award nominated casting director for her work on FX’s The Americans. She is the co-casting director of Baz Luhrmann’s The Get Down and Nicholas Stoller’s upcoming Friends From College (both for Netflix). Rori has worked closely for the past 10+ years with longtime friend and collaborator Jeanne McCarthy on projects that include Collateral Beauty, Foxcatcher, Begin Again, Synecdoche New York, Please Give, Our Idiot Brother, and the upcoming films Rock That Body, Nicole Holofcener’s The Land of Steady Habits, and Tamara Jenkins’ Private Life. Rori was born & raised in NJ, attended Cornell University, and is a proud member of the Theatrical Teamsters Local 817.

Allison Estrin | Estrin/Bergstein Casting
Allison Estrin has been working in film/TV and theatre for over 10 years. Originally working with Binder Casting, Allison worked on many Broadway shows including Gypsy starring Patti Lupone and the revival of A Chorus Line. With Barden/Schnee Casting she helped cast multiple award winning films including Winters Bone; The Help; Dallas Buyers Club; Still Alice; Win Win; Compliance, and many more. In TV, Allison has cast 2 seasons of Billions on Showtime as well as the first season of Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central. With her partner Henry Russell Bergstein she is currently casting the UNT Warren Leight pilot for NBC.

Kim Miscia | Bowling/Miscia Casting 
Kim Miscia has been a casting director and partner in Bowling/Miscia Casting for the past 15 years. Prior to that she trained under Ilene Starger and was the manager of casting at HBO films.

Current television projects: Blue Bloods, Gotham, Mr. Robot, and Quantico. Past credits include: Gossip Girl, Mad Men, Medium, Bored to Death, Third Watch.
