Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab Orientation (VOLO)

Saturday, April 22, 2017

Begins at 9:00 AM PDT
Check-in begins at: 8:45 AM PDT

Friday, April 21, 2017

Once you have completed the requisite Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab online application, you must complete the Voiceover Lab Orientation (VOLO) in order to begin using the Lab.  The VOLO covers Lab policies, aspects of sound, file formats, sample rates/bit depths, audio interfaces, microphones, functions of recording and a demonstration of a typical voiceover recording, including editing. The VO Lab Orientation is from 9:00am-11:00am.

Please follow the instructions below:

  • Check-in will be from 8:40am-8:50am.  If you arrive late, you will miss your opportunity to attend, so please leave ample time to get here from your start point

  • Check-in will be in the lobby of the building (5757 Wilshire Blvd) in the seating area, south of the security desk.  PLEASE DO NOT ask the security guards to direct you to the VO Lab, VO Lab Orientation or the Computer Lab for check-in.  They are not members of our staff and will not have details about the VOLO.

  • Remain in the seating area of the lobby until check-in begins.  Please do not wander off with others if they are not following these written instructions.  That will only create confusion.

  • You must have your valid SAG-AFTRA or AEA membership card and a photo ID at check-in. Without them, you will not be admitted.

  • If you arrive late (after check-in) and no one is in the check-in area,  go to the Mezzanine Level Suite M101 for parking validation.

Attendees will become VO Lab eligible after completing this VO Lab Orientation.
