SYNOPSIS

Screening followed by Q&A with director Amy Adrion.

HALF THE PICTURE is a documentary about the dismal number of women directors working in Hollywood, using the current EEOC investigation into discriminatory hiring practices as a framework to talk to successful women directors about their career paths, struggles, inspiration and hopes for the future.

Moderated by Danielle Turchiano, Variety.


PANELIST BIO

Amy Adrion is a director and writer whose work has screened at the Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca and Los Angeles Film Festivals, been broadcast on PBS and MTV, and won numerous awards including a Directors Guild of America (DGA) Student Film Award and an Impact Award at the Sarasota Film Festival.

A graduate of the MFA film directing program at UCLA, with an undergraduate degree in Literature and Theology from Georgetown University, Amy has worked in indie film production and distribution, as a producer on awards shows and as a festival programmer. HALF THE PICTURE, Amy’s first feature documentary, includes interviews with prominent female film and television directors and had its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018.  Amy grew up in Hillsdale, New Jersey and now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons.
