SYNOPSIS

This in-person class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with LA based Casting Director, Gianna Butler.

Participating actors will prepare and perform a scene assigned by the casting professional.

BIO
Gianna Butler (she/her) is a casting director with twelve years of experience in scripted-content television, film, and new media in Los Angeles. As a casting director, she was nominated for a CSA Artios Award in 2020 for the Facebook Watch series The Real Bros Of Simi Valley and has worked with many noted filmmakers, including Jimmy Tatro and Christian A. Pierce, Anni Weisband, Savannah Abrishamchian, and Lena Tsodykovskaya. Gianna works currently as an associate casting director at Koczara/Shevchenko Casting, a position she has held for nine years. The company has been nominated for CSA Artios Awards for ABC’s Black-ish, Netflix’s Fuller House, and Disney’s The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. Gianna was also honored with the Associate Spotlight Award at the 2021 Artios Awards. At Koczara/Shevchenko Casting, she has worked on projects alongside filmmakers Kenya Barris, Rashida Jones, Snoop Dogg, Margot Robbie, Michael Patrick King, Bonnie Hunt, Jordan Weiss, and more. Prior to joining Koczara/Shevchenko, Gianna assisted Margery Simkin and Orly Sitowitz in casting for television.
