SYNOPSIS

As digital media becomes more of a mode of mainstream distribution, content creators are looking for innovative ways to showcase their work. The SAG Foundation's The Business program is thrilled to present a panel populated by industry professionals who will provide insight into obtaining financing and distribution in new and unique ways.


PANELISTS BIOS

Aron Gaudet - Writer/Director, BENEATH THE HARVEST SKY
Aron was recently selected as one of Variety’s “10 Directors To Watch” for 2014 for his narrative feature directorial debut, Beneath The Harvest Sky. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, its US premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, and was acquired by Tribeca Films for distribution. In 2009, Aron wrote and directed the national, Emmy-nominated documentary, The Way We Get By a heartfelt story about three senior citizens finding purpose in their life. The film had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) and won the Special Jury Award on its way to winning 18 festival awards around the world. The Way We Get By was released theatrically in July 2009, playing in over 60 cities across the U.S. It aired on the critically acclaimed, independent television series P.O.V. on PBS as a primetime special on Veterans Day. AARP's "Movies for Grownups" Awards honored The Way We Get By as "Best Documentary" of 2009.

Gita Pullapilly - Writer/Director, BENEATH THE HARVEST SKY

In 2013, Pullapilly won the “Euphoria Calvin Klein Spotlight on Women Filmmakers Live the Dream Grant” at the Gotham Awards. In 2009, Gita co-wrote and produced the national, Emmy-nominated documentary, The Way We Get By a heartfelt story about three senior citizens finding purpose in their life. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Chad Villella - Actors, Writers, Directors, CHAD, MATT & ROB
Chad and Matt are actor/writer/directors who created the online filmmaking collective "Chad, Matt & Rob" in 2007 and gained popularity with their Alien Roommate Prank Goes Bad video as well as a series of Choose Your Own Adventure-style "Interactive Adventures." They went on to make a segment for the Sundance cult hit V/H/S, the 20th Century Fox film Devil's Due and a pilot for Comedy Central. They are currently working with producers Tony Krantz & Jason Blum on an anthology show for NBC.


Zadi Diaz, moderator
Zadi is the Executive Producer of YouTube Nation. Created in partnership with DreamWorks Animation, YouTube Nation is YouTube’s official flagship show, highlighting great videos and creators on the platform. Prior to working on YouTube Nation, Zadi was the Head of Content Development at Disney Interactive, where she developed and produced original live-action and animated series for Disney’s web and mobile audience. Her history in digital entertainment spans over ten years and includes award-winning narrative, non-fiction, branded entertainment, and documentary projects. Her work has been highlighted in The New York Times, Forbes, Ad Age, and Variety, among other national publications. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, the PGA, and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
