SYNOPSIS

This workshop will include a Q&A and a cold reading session with an experienced casting professional.


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

Pamela M. Staton is a respected member of the entertainment industry with over 22 years combined experience as a casting director, talent executive, producer, and promotions & marketing executive. With her dedication to excellence and keen eye for talent, she has completed 56 Independent Films, 49 of which received distribution, and 29 of which garnered “Best Film” honors from prestigious Film Festivals including Cannes. Some of the more popular titles are Better Criminal, Let It Bleed, Sister’s Keeper, Restraining Order, Street Boss, Restitution and the popular, All About You, was named the highest selling DVD in the urban market. Playaz Court, her first film, was named an urban classic by Variety Magazine.

Ms. Staton worked at NBC as an associate producer for the Charlie Rose Show and then for The Walt Disney Company as Feature Promotions Coordinator on “Beauty and The Beast” and many others in the early 90’s.  Also at Touchstone, she was Director of Development in Television overseeing new programming for one year.  At Black Entertainment Television (BET) she was a seasonal Talent Executive for overall programming launching Comic View; she also worked at Warner Bros. in Marketing & Finance from Space Jam and “The Matrixes” to “Harry Potter” totaling a 10 year tenure.  Ms. Staton has coordinated Talent for several award shows, including Critic’s Choice, People’s Choice, Daytime Emmy's, and The American Music Awards for Dick Clark Productions and The MovieGuide Awards for Ted Baehr. 

Ms. Staton is an active associate member of the Casting Society Of America (CSA), Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS), Women In Film (WIF), Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) and formerly Film Independent (FIND), 13 years as a voting member for the Independent Spirit Awards and currently on the nominations committee for the Image Awards.

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this workshop.

Please note that the 90-day frequency restriction applies to this workshop. Your last frequency-restricted workshop must have taken place no less than 90 (ninety) days prior to this event to be eligible to register. 

NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
