Check-in begins at: 8:45 AM PDT

Friday, September 02, 2016

This workshop is on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 9:00am-11:00am.

If you have always wanted to learn Pro Tools, now is the time.  Pro Tools | First is Avid's FREE version of Pro Tools, available to both Mac and Windows users. This free version looks and feels much like the regular versions that cost much more. In order to be offered free, Avid has stripped out some of the functionality - luckily however, this won't affect the VO user too much.

In Pro Tools First 101, attendees will learn why the Pro Tools system is used in studios around the world. Then, after installation (which is required before attending workshop - we will email a PDF with installation instructions to those interested in attending), students will explore the user interface in detail, learning the window configuration, buttons and layout. After a discussion on how the system is laid out, students will learn to record audio and then begin to use the tools explained earlier to edit this same audio. Once students have gained a grasp on editing, they will then learn how to export audio using the bounce and direct export technique. Because Pro Tools First doesn't come bundled with MP3 export, the class will also download and learn to use a secondary MP3 conversion tool as well.

Pro Tools | First is a new FREE version of the popular DAW.  Learn some of the basic functions of Protools | First at the DLF VO Lab.
