PANELIST BIOS

Casey Everett James was only 13 when he got his first guitar. It became a constant companion, a channel for his emotions, as the six strings lay easy in his hands.

Casey an American singer and guitarist from Fort Worth, Texas, who was the third-place finalist on the ninth season of American Idol and is an independent recording artist. He released his eponymous album in March 2012 from which three singles, "Let's Don't Call it a Night", "Crying on a Suitcase", and "The Good Life" were released. In October 2014, James released "Fall Apart" as the first single from his upcoming second studio album.

Leslie Powell is a native Texan, born and raised in Austin with her sister, brother, parents and 13 cousins. Before graduating from the Communications School at the University of Texas, with a degree in Radio/Television/Film, she managed to get her first cut on platinum album recording artist Elvis Blue's album, "Journey," in 2013. The song, "Not Gonna Say Goodbye," became a single and charted up to #12 on the South African charts. The same song appeared in a Terrence Malick produced film, Red Wing, later that year. Leslie is now based in Nashville making her living singing and songwriting. She mixes the vocal stylings of Colbie Caillat with the sultry sound of Norah Jones and ties it all together with country instrumentation.
