SYNOPSIS

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Los Angeles Short Film Showcase is a cinematic celebration of new projects designed to encourage performers to create their own short films and web series.

Held twice a year, in April and August at our Los Angeles Screening Room, the showcase not only features a shorts program, but includes a Q&A and reception with the films’ directors, producers and actors present at the screening.


FILMS

ALTERNATIVE MATH - David Maddox, writer, director
A well meaning math teacher finds herself trumped by a post-fact America.


CONTACT - Teal Greyhavens, co-writer, co-director  
When Jason’s companion suddenly vanishes before his eyes, he realizes that the world around him may be starting to unravel.


CROSSROADS - Marvin Nuecklaus, writer, director, producer
Karen, a young, traumatized and abused woman is interrogated after she was found unconscious in a desolate desert.


OVER AND OUT - Brian Sutherin, director
Two women bond after the shared experience of having their first babies.  


YOUNG ADULT - Jake Yuzna, writer, director
On the last day of a summer camp, a teenage girl, Annie, to connect with the boy who might be her first love. 


THE ZIM - Alexander Bedria, writer, director, producer  
A farmer struggles to protect his home and loved ones amidst the violent turmoil of the Zimbabwean land seizures.
