SYNOPSIS

So what do you get when you team three multi-talented, hard working, purpose driven actors that want to share their experiences and industry insights with the community of fellow actors that they appreciate  and want to connect with?  Well, in this case... Women That Rock The Mic!  Yes, this Voiceover Lab Panel is for all curious and artistic souls that want to engage in real talk about life and the craft that we all love.  All are welcome.

Moderated by Wendy Rosoff, Actor, Singer, Theatre Director, Podcaster (Two in the Solo Booth and Sky Talks).


PANELIST'S BIOS

Lori Alan

Lori Alan is perhaps best known for her award-winning voiceover work.  She starred as Diane Simmons on Family Guy, Pearl the Whale on SpongeBob: Squarepants, which is going into its 20th season, Sue Richards, The Invisible Woman, on Marvel Comics' The Fantastic Four, and The Boss in the Metal Gear Solid video game trilogy. She’s proud to be a part of the Pixar Family. Voicing characters in Wall-e, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Monster’s University, Bonnie’s Mom in Pixar’s Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4, and Mother’s Sadness in Inside Out.  At the First Annual Voice Arts Awards (the Academy Awards for Voiceovers) Lori took first-place prizes for Outstanding Body Of Work.

 A native of the Washington, DC area, her passion for entertaining led the five-year-old actress to make her television debut as the star of a Shakey's Pizza commercial. She went on to graduate with honors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and set off cutting her teeth on the comedy circuit, as a longtime member of New York's Gotham City Improv (Groundlings East). 

 She now has a thriving voiceover/on camera coaching practice as a means of giving back, as so many mentors did for her.


Candi Milo

Candi Milo started her voice over career with Steven Spielberg’s Tiny Toon Adventures in the late 1980s, and it has been nonstop ever since, with over 600 roles to her name. You know her as one of your favorites, whether that’s Dexter from Dexter’s Lab, Cheese, Madame Foster and Coco from Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Astroboy or The Flea from Mucha Lucha.

She currently appears in Looney Tunes, covering all of June Foray’s characters including Granny and Witch Hazel, Middle School Moguls, Where’s Waldo, and Cleopatra in Space.

Prior to cartoon voicing, Candi was in the First National Tour of Dreamgirls with Jennifer Holliday and directed by Michael Bennet. Elegies: For Angels Punks and Raging Queens and To Sir With Love with Stephanie Mills.

She has also done over 150 on-camera commercials, including being the spokeswoman for Mervyn’s department stores where she wrote their catchphrase: OPEN! OPEN! OPEN!

Recent TV credits include Boomers with Barry Pearl, Wilfred and Girl Meets World.

She has written a memoir called Surviving the Odd, about her very unusual childhood.

She continues to do local and regional Equity theater, stand up, her cabaret show and is producing and starring in a Justin Tanner play called Voice Lessons.

Other than that, she tries to nap.


Nancy Linari

Nancy Linari’s career as an actress has spanned several decades and genres. She started onstage with Chicago’s The Second City, and had leading roles in I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking it On the Road, Ruthless! The Musical”(original cast recording) and I’m Not Rappaport. She is currently portraying the iconic Aunt May in both Insomniac’s hit Spider-Man on PS4 and in the animated series on Disney XD, Marvel’s Spider-Man

Nancy’s first TV credits include This is Us, Life in Pieces, Bosch, Modern Family, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, and most recently, the re-boot of Mad About You.  She was featured in David Fincher’s Academy Award-nominated The Social Network. 

She is an award-winning audiobook narrator, and has been seen and heard in hundreds of commercials.  

As the live stadium announcer, she had the honor of introducing Prince Harry and First Lady Michelle Obama at the Invictus Games Orlando 2016, an international, multi-sport event, created by Prince Harry to honor wounded military servicemen, women and their families. Nancy is a proud member of both SAG-AFTRA and AEA.


Wendy Rosoff

Wendy currently hosts the podcast, Skytalks – Elevated Conversations at the Line Lofts which is recorded in front of a live audience in Hollywood, and co-hosts the podcast, Two In The Solo Booth, which is recorded at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab, alongside co-host Aric Shuford. 

On-camera you have seen Wendy acting in TV shows such as Fresh Off The Boat, Veep, The Good Place, Shameless, Criminal Minds, Scorpion, Castle and others. Wendy has performed, directed and choreographed theatre all over the world, from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to the boards of Broadway. She recently performed in SAG-AFTRA’s very first sponsored musical workshop reading, Glass Ceilings, which will have a full run at The Rockwell Table and Stage in early 2020. Wendy is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, and AGVA.
