SYNOPSIS
Audacity is a widely used FREE DAW for Macs and PCs that is very popular in voiceover. Knowing how to use more of its functions can advance your workflow and help you produce better audio recordings and ultimately help you produce your own demos. This is important to your knowledge base and the concepts learned in Audacity 101 can help you with other multi-track recording software. Also, completion of Audacity 101 qualifies you to take Audacity 102, where you will produce a commercial with voiceover, music and sound effects.
Duration of program: 6:30pm-8:30pm
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to log into program by computer equipped with a camera or by cell phone equipped with a camera. Program will take place using Zoom (conferencing application) . Camera is needed in order for participants to view presentation materials
Previous Audacity (or DAW) experience is required. If you have no previous experience with Audacity or other DAWS (audio recording software), please do not register for this offering. Instead, book your solo booth sessions at the VO Lab and learn the basics of audio recording, which will open the door for additional software training.
To optimize your learning experience, it is highly recommended that you have your laptop (Mac or PC) with Audacity downloaded. Make sure Audacity is active and operational on your laptop before you arrive for class. This will help save valuable class time.
