SYNOPSIS
This discussion is about the business of audiobooks and will feature prolific narrators and audiobook entrepreneurs Scott Brick and Jeffrey Kafer. These two professionals will share their perspectives on how to navigate the business aspects of audiobooks and how you can find success within this evolving sector of voiceover. Additional topics of the discussion will include: online platforms for actors to find work, home studio basics, what it means to be a "producer," outsourcing editing and post production, finding work with indie authors, marketing yourself to publishers and producers, as well as rate structures. Questions from attendees will be integrated into the discussion, so be prepared to ask them and to receive practical feedback.

Scott Brick
Scott Brick has recorded bestsellers for every major publisher, over 700 titles including MYSTIC RIVER, FAHRENHEIT 451, IN COLD BLOOD and HELTER SKELTER. An AudioFile Magazine Golden Voice, he’s received over 50 Earphones Awards, three Audie Awards, a Grammy nomination, and has twice been Publisher’s Weekly Audiobook Narrator of the Year. Jeffrey Kafer
Jeffrey Kafer is a full-time SAG-AFTRA audiobook narrator and consultant. He has narrated over 700 books in almost every genre for such authors Clive Barker, Steve Alten, Maya Banks, Gregg Olsen and many others. He has 2 degrees in cinema and broadcasting and spent the first part of his career as a video game tester for Microsoft before following his true passion of acting.
