Since it's founding in 2004, BizParentz representatives have presented workshops on Managing Coogan, Parenting Young Performers, Child Actor Taxes, Incorporation/Emancipation, and Predators and Performer Safety as well as seminars on the realities of the children in the entertainment industry. Anne and Paula have become sought after media and legislative experts on the subject of young performers, and in addition to the educational articles on their own website, they have contributed to multiple national publications, web-based venues, and television shows in the US, Canada, the UK, and Brazil. Recent appearances include Court TV's Hollywood Heat, CNN Showbiz Tonight, Dr. Phil, and MSNBC's The Big Idea, along with articles in the New York Times, LA Times, Screen Actor, and Backstage.
The support of hundreds of volunteers is crucial to the success of Bizparentz, Since there are no paid staff, they rely on the generosity of their members. Agents, managers, casting directors, union officials, and of course showbiz parents all contribute in various ways.
BizParentz is also the sponsor of the CARE Awards, held in March at Universal Studios, to honor well-rounded professional young performers.
