SYNOPSIS

In this class, expect the unexpected and prepare to enjoy the ride.  This class is intended to help you bring out the best in your voiceover performances by showing you how to identify the similarities between acting on-camera and acting with your voice, when behind a microphone.  You will utilize physicality, tap into your vocal signatures and learn techniques to help you "get out of your head" and make your VO strengths work for you when recording.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Josh Daugherty

Born in Eugene, Oregon, Josh got started in VO as a radio DJ in Oregon at 19 years old, working 3 stations at once: Hot Country, News/Talk and Adult Album Alternative (AAA).  He moved to Los Angeles in January of '98 and got started on-camera doing commercials (over 70 at this point) and TV shows including CSI, Navy NCIS, Judging Amy, Providence, Supernatural and many others.  He has been the voice of Charter TV/Phone/Internet, Bud Light and been featured in commercials from McDonalds, 7-11, Velveeta, Honda and Pizza Hut.

You can see him playing the role of Tom Saubers on the current season of David E. Kelly's adaptation of Stephen King's trilogy, Mr. Mercedes starring Brendan Gleeson, Holland Taylor and Jharrel Jerome.

REQUIREMENTS

There will be a limited number of readers randomly selected from performers on the RSVP list.

Participants must stay for the entire program: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Pacific) / 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM (Eastern)

Auditor seats will be available.  Auditor seats enable performers to sit in on the instruction and ask questions, but will not be guaranteed an opportunity to read copy and receive direction from the instructor.  Auditor seats are determined by availability of the performer, position of the performer on the Waitlist and frequency restriction considerations.
