SYNOPSIS
Join industry powerhouse Donna Jay Fulks for a magical tour of VO possibilities! In this session Donna will discuss various voiceover genres and the nuances and techniques talent can use when working in a specific category of voiceover. Select participants will have the opportunity to work on and perform audition copy in their chosen genre. This will be followed by the opportunity to compare their take with the final version of the produced work. Don't miss out on this enlightening (and fun) workshop with an industry expert!

If you wish to audit the session (i.e. listen and watch only without the opportunity to read), please add your name to the waitlist. All members on the waitlist will be considered seated as auditors. If you do not wish to attend as an auditor, please refrain from putting your name on the waitlist.
REQUIREMENTS
All readers in this session are asked to join via Zoom from a home set-up (i.e. an acoustically treated space and with a microphone - USB microphone is acceptable). For auditors, a home set-up is not required. Participants on the waitlist will be considered auditors. Participants are required to check-in before the start of class and remain for the duration of the session.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Donna Jay Fulks
Donna Jay Fulks studied acting at NYU and Columbia College Chicago. She is an accomplished voice actor who has decades of experience in all facets of the industry. Donna has worked on multitudes of commercial campaigns and, notably, was the exclusive voice of JcPenney for a decade. In television promo, she has worked for CBS, MSNBC, CMT, HULU and proudly served as the voice of The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) for several years. She traveled as Ms. Winfrey’s live announcer during her 2014 tour. Other live events include the opening ceremonies of Tyler Perry Studios, the 2021 Game Awards and VH-1’s 2019 Trailblazer Honors. She voices the role of Longclaw in the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, Mayor Muckford in Sharkdog and Double Mouth for Bee and Puppycat on Netflix. She has translated her skills to VO parodies for SNL, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Ellen Show. She recently appeared as the “Voice of VSN” in Showtime’s I Love That For You. Donna has experience in radio imaging, tv affiliate promo, game show announce, audio books, industrial narration, dubbing, ADR and video games. Donna has a background in theater, and was honored to have been a part of David Cromer’s acclaimed production of “Our Town.” She performed multiple roles during its runs in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.
