SYNOPSIS

This in-person class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with an experienced casting professional.

The Casting Director will assign sides for each actor prior to the class.

Actors are invited to send up-to-date headshots and resumes for the Casting Director by 5pm EST on Friday, March 17th. The subject needs to be Casting Access In Person w/David Vaccari. 


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

David Vaccari’s new venture is as an independent casting director working on commercials, film, and television. Having previously worked twenty-seven years with Telsey and Company, he is excited to start his own company, “David Vaccari Casting”.

His film projects include “Respect” with Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitaker, “The Kitchen” with Melissa McCarthy, “The Intern” with Robert DeNiro, “Focus” with Will Smith, “Friends With Kids”, “Howl”, “Jonah Hex”, “Rent”, and in addition, three films with Gus Van Sant, including “Restless”, “Paranoid Park” and “Finding Forrester” with Sean Connery.

Other films include “Rachel Getting Married”, which was given an Oscar nomination for Anne Hathaway, “Then She Found Me”, “Across the Universe”, “Ira and Abby”, “Keane”, “The Bone Collector” and “Pieces of April”, which was given an Oscar nomination for Patricia Clarkson.

TV shows and pilots include “House of Cards”, “NOS4A2”, “Little America”, “Murphy Brown”, “Nightcap”,“This Is Us”, “Time After Time”, “Ordained” with Sam Neill for CBS , as well as the AMC pilot “Line of Sight” for Jonathan Demme.

Other TV projects include “I’m Dying Up Here”, “Penny Dreadful” and “The Big C” on Showtime as well as “One Day At a Time”, “A Gifted Man” and “Smash”.  
Commercial directors that he has worked with include Martin Granger, Christopher Guest, Roman Coppola, Jon Favreau, Dayton & Faris, Lasse Hallstrom, Spike Jones, Barry Levinson, Sam Mendes, Tom Noakes, Steve Miller and Phil Morrison.


REQUIREMENTS

All members must show a valid SAG-AFTRA card when they check in for the class.  No admittance will be granted without your current card or receipt.

Everyone entering the building must present a valid ID, Proof of Vaccination, and is required to wear a mask.  Actors may remove masks for performances, and instructors are invited to remove masks while giving adjustments or feedback.

NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.

Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone.  Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time.  If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
