SYNOPSIS
This in-person class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with an experienced casting professional.
Actors will work on original, self-written commercial copy. David would prefer that all class participants write their own copy, to allow the class participants to think about the structure of the spot. Actors should prepare 2 original 30 second spots.
A reader will be available if needed. If a reader is needed, actors will need to provide a copy of their sides upon check-in.
CASTING DIRECTOR BIO
David Elliott has been an agent at Don Buchwald & Assoc. for over 30 years, working in the areas of on camera, voice over, radio, print, video games and industrials. Prior to working as a talent agent he was an actor in film, TV and stage. He had no acting talent. Recently he has booked clients as the leads in two major video games, and major advertising campaigns for Scott Paper, Bank of America, T-Mobile, Triscuits, Ambi, amongothers,and sent actors to work in Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, Prague, Johannesburg, Milan, Slovenia and Buenos Aires. The greatest deal of his career was selling a small Wendy's chocolate Frosty to another agent for $10.
REQUIREMENTS
All members must show a valid SAG-AFTRA card when they check in for the class. No admittance will be granted without your current card or receipt.
Everyone entering the building must present a valid ID, Proof of Vaccination, and is required to wear a mask. Actors may remove masks for performances, and instructors are invited to remove masks while giving adjustments or feedback.
NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone. Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period. DO NOT BE LATE. Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time. If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
