SYNOPSIS
This in-person class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with an experienced casting professional.
The Casting Director will assign sides for each actor prior to the class. Sides will be emailed to participating actors at least one day prior to class.
A reader will be available in class.

CASTING DIRECTOR BIO
LOIS DRABKIN is a Casting Director who has worked extensively on a range of projects, most notably in independent film, and many for first-time directors, including: the Sundance premieres of NANCY, LISTEN UP PHILIP, RESTLESS CITY, NIGHT CATCHES US and THE MISSING PERSON; the Independent Spirit Award acting-nominated features COLEWELL (Karen Allen), NANCY (J. Smith-Cameron) and GLASS CHIN (Marin Ireland); and the recent releases of the award-winning FOXHOLE and the dark comedy HERE AFTER with Christina Ricci. Additional credits include the Emmy-winning first season of the Showtime documentary series investigating climate change, YEARS OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, the second season of the Emmy-nominated HBO true crime series THE VOW, and as part of the casting teams for Steven Spielberg’s WAR OF THE WORLDS, the acclaimed HBO series THE WIRE, and Michael Mann’s PUBLIC ENEMIES. A member of the Casting Society of America, Lois has been nominated for multiple Artios Awards for Outstanding Casting.
REQUIREMENTS
All members must show a valid SAG-AFTRA card when they check in for the class. No admittance will be granted without your current card or receipt.
Everyone entering the building must present a valid ID, Proof of Vaccination, and is required to wear a mask. Actors may remove masks for performances, and instructors are invited to remove masks while giving adjustments or feedback.
NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone. Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period. DO NOT BE LATE. Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time. If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
