PANELIST BIO

Robert Pine is celebrating his 57th year in front of the camera.  His first appearance was on NBC’s KRAFT SUSPENSE THEATER in 1964 while under contract to Universal Studios. Since then he has appeared in over 400 movies and TV shows, including most recently MAGNUM, PI, 911 – LONE STAR, NCIS, THE COOL KIDS, GRAVES, ANGIE TRIBECA, VEEP, IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, GREY’S ANATOMY, MOTHER’S DAY, and FROZEN. His upcoming films include SONG OF THE BACK & NECK, BOLIVAR, and GRADE 4B.

His first regular role in a series was in 1976 on BERT D’ANGELO/SUPERSTAR which lasted only 13 episodes. The following year he found a more permanent spot on CHiPs, where he played Sgt. Joe Getraer, and appeared in all 140 episodes over its successful 6-year run on NBC.

His latest offering for TV is playing Dr. Horace Baltz in the Apple+TV drama FIVE DAYS AT MEMORIAL about Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath at Memorial Hospital in New Orleans.

His love for acting started in high school on the stage, and he still tries to fit in a play whenever his schedule permits. His theatrical home is with The Antaeus Theatre Company where he has most recently appeared in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. His other shows with Antaeus include THE LIAR, Noel Coward’s TONIGHT AT 8:30, COUSIN BETTE, and KING LEAR which won the LA Outer Critics Circle award for Best Production.

Robert has served on both the Local and National Boards of the old SAG and AFTRA performers unions and recently retired from the SAG-AFTRA National Board.

He and his wife, Gwynne, a psycho-therapist, will celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary later this year. They are the very proud parents of Katie, also a psycho-therapist, and Chris, an actor, who is a joy to watch distinguishing himself in our business.

SAG-AFTRA members and guests invited to events will behave in a professional and courteous manner. Any violation of the rules or transgression of decorum will be subject to review by the programming team, which has the authority to remove the member from present and future SAG-AFTRA Foundation programs.
