SYNOPSIS

This virtual class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with an experienced casting professional.

Participating actors will prepare a scene from film or tv, two minutes in length or less.  All actors must email their sides to castingaccess@sagaftra.foundation by 2pm PST/ 5pmEST on Tuesday, June 6th.  the subject of the email must read 'Sides - Eve Battaglia' and the role the reader is playing must be noted in the body of the email.  A reader will be available in class.

RSVP'd Actors will receive a ZOOM Invitation to participate an hour before the class.  


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

EVE BATTAGLIA has been a casting director in NYC for over 25 years, working on film, TV and theater projects.  Most recently, Eve cast Todd Stephen’s Swan Song which premiered at SXSW in 2021. It stars Udo Kier, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael Urie and Linda Evans. The film was nominated for two Indie Spirit Awards and a Casting Society award. She cast Rachel Carey's indie Ask For Jane with Cody Horn, Alison Wright, Ben Rappaport, Chloe Levine, Sarah Steele and Sarah Ramos. AFJ made it's festival debut in 2018 at the Hamptons International FF and was released theatrically spring '19. Eve cast Angela Robinson's Professor Marston and The Wonder Women which premiered at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival and had a wide release in October '17 by Sony/Annapurna. It stars Luke Evans, Rebecca Hall and Bella Heathcote. Other recent projects include  Michael O'Shea's feature debut THE TRANSFIGURATION, which made it's world premiere at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival/Un Certain Regard and it's US premiere at SXSW 2017.  Strand released it spring '17 and it was nominated for the John Cassavetes award at the Indie Spirits in 2018.  Eve cast Chadd Harbold's LONG NIGHTS, SHORT MORNINGS starring Shiloh Fernandez ( SXSW 2016) , Ben Dickinson's CREATIVE CONTROL ( SXSW 2015, Special Jury Prize, released by Magnolia and Amazon). Indiewire named it one of the top 10  indies of 2016.  She cast Alexandre Moor's BLUE CAPRICE which premiered at Sundance 2013 and went on to Deauville, New Directors/ New Films (2013 opening night) and was nominated for  Gotham and Indie Spirit awards in 2014. Eve cast Stephen Belber's feature film MATCH which stars Patrick Stewart, Carla Gugino and Matthew Lillard. MATCH made it's world premiere at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and was released theatrically in early 2015 by IFC. Andrew Levitas' LULLABY with  Richard Jenkins, Garrett Hedlund, Terrence Howard, Jennifer Hudson and Jessica Brown Findlay was released in the summer 2014. Eve cast TRANSAMERICA, for which star Felicity Huffman won the Golden Globe, SAG and the Indie Spirit award, in addition to being nominated for an Academy Award.  Other projects include GIMME THE LOOT (SXSW 2012, audience award), SORRY HATERS ( TIFF 2006, Indie Spirit nom), ON THE ROAD WITH JUDAS (Sundance 2007).  She has been twice nominated for the Casting Society of America Artios award. 

Eve did the US casting for the Netflix series LILYHAMMER.

She cast the Sundance Institute Director's Lab from 2006 through 2013. She has cast numerous staged readings and theater productions on and off-Broadway for the Manhattan Theater Club, Primary Stages, Actors Theater of Louisville, and The Circle Repertory Company.

NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
