SYNOPSIS
This class will include a Q&A and an ASSIGNED PREPARED READING SESSION with an experienced casting professional.
Actors will be assigned a scene by the Casting Director. Actors will need to prepare the scene ahead of the class. Tuesday, September 19th, the casting director will be sent the Casting Access Profile Headshots to assign scenes. Please make sure they are up to date by Tuesday, September 19th at 9AM PST | 12PM EST. (see instructions below on updating your Casting Access Profile Headshot)
RSVP'D actors will receive a ZOOM invitation sent on the day of the class to participate.
CASTING DIRECTOR BIO
M'saada Nia is a casting professional (with over 150+ credits and more than a decade of experience), most recently having been a casting executive fora major studio and previously having worked in freelance casting on studio & indie features, blockbuster video games, pilots & network series, live action and animated series, new media projects, commercials & music videos (several projects were Oscar or Emmy or NAACP or BAFTA award nominated). She was a member of the casting teams of renowned Casting Directors Emily Schweber (SXSW film THE QUARRY, and triple A title video games CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE), Aisha Coley (Oscar winning and major studio production films, NAACP Image award winning series QUEEN SUGAR) and Donna Morong (SEE YOU THEN, HOW TO DETER A ROBBER). As the lead casting director and founder of Copasetic Casting, M'saada has been a staunch advocate of actors and has discovered loads of exciting, new talent. Additionally, she cast ADR/loop groups for features, series and made for TV movies for major film and tv studios, in addition to Hallmark and Lifetime among others.
REQUIREMENTS
You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.
All members must show a valid SAG-AFTRA card when they check in for the class. No admittance will be granted without your current card or receipt.
NO LATE ARRIVALS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone. Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period. DO NOT BE LATE. Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time. If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
Please note that the 30-day frequency restriction applies to this workshop. Your last frequency-restricted workshop must have taken place no less than 30 (thirty) days prior to this event to be eligible to register
