BIO:
Kiefer Sutherland is best known for portraying CTU agent Jack Bauer in the critically acclaimed Fox Drama “24.” Sutherland received multiple awards for his performances, including two SAG Awards for Best Actor in a Drama Series, an Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. He reprised the role for “24: Redemption,” a made for television movie that bridged together the storyline of season six and season seven. It was nominated for five Emmy awards, including one for Sutherland for Best Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries.
Sutherland can currently be seen in “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial" from the late award-winning director William Friedkin, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Herman Wouk for Paramount Global and Showtime.
Sutherland previously starred and executive produced “Rabbit Hole,” an espionage drama created by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa for Paramount+ produced by CBS Studios. The series premiered in March of 2023 and starred Sutherland as private espionage operative James Weir, who finds himself in the midst of a battle over the preservation of democracy in a world at odds with misinformation, behavioral manipulation, the surveillance state, and the interests that control these extraordinary powers.
In 2022, Sutherland wasseen in Tarik Saleh’s “The Contractor” opposite Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Gillian Jacobs for STXFilms as well as the Showtime drama “The First Lady” in which he portrayed President Franklin D. Roosevelt opposite Gillian Anderson.
In 2016, Sutherland starred as President Tom Kirkman in the hit ABC drama series “Designated Survivor,” which premiered on ABC and aired its third and final season on Netflix.
In 2015, Sutherland was seen starring opposite Donald Sutherland and Demi Moore in the feature film “Forsaken” directed by Jon Cassar, his longtime director from “24.” The film premiered in September 2015 at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Zurich Film Festival; Sutherland was honored with the Golden Eye Award.
Sutherland's first major role was in the 1984 Canadian drama entitled "The Bay Boy," which earned Sutherland and director Daniel Petrie Genie award nominations for best actor and best director, respectively. Following his success in the film Sutherland moved to Los Angeles and landed television appearances in "The Mission," an episode of "Amazing Stories" and in the telefilm "Trapped in Silence" with Marsha Mason.
Sutherland's other notable credits include: “Melancholia,” “Dark City,” “A Few Good Men,” “Flatliners,” “Young Guns,” “Young Guns II,” “The Lost Boys” and “Stand By Me.”
