This class will include a Q&A with New York based Casting Professional Millicent Dyane, followed by a prepared work session. 

Participating actors will choose, prepare and perform sides from film or television.  Additional preparation details will be sent upon RSVP confirmation.


ABOUT MELLICENT

Mellicent Dyane has over 30 years of professional experience as a Casting Director and  production facilitator. In 2014, she took a leap of faith to pursue her love of being a  director. Mellicent began her career in entertainment as a freelancer for AT&T in  California while studying Business and sports Communications at Los Medanos College.  Then, realizing she could do it independently, she stopped ignoring her entrepreneurial  spirit and started Dyane*Foster Film, Casting & T.V., aka Dyane*Foster Inc. 

Staying true to her entrepreneurial spirit while successfully juggling several projects,  Mellicent is directing and producing various projects and developing an animated T.V.  series. She produced "Red Pill," directed by Tonya Pinkins. A political thriller, winning  over 25 Film Festivals. Working with Tonya Pinkins again, Mellicent is scheduled to  produce and cast Tonya's film, "Anjo Vigador (Avenging Angel), about human trafficking. She is writing, producing, and directing a documentary entitled: "Paula's Story -  Surviving Heart Disease" about her mother being a heart disease survivor. This film is  one of her passion projects because Mellicent is on a mission to spread awareness of the  debilitating disease and the red dress pin. She is developing and scheduled to direct and  produce a biopic film, "MomPreneur," about a unique female inventor.

Hamri, Kevin Bray, Joseph Kahn, Paul Hunter, Shawn Baker, Erik White & Alan  Ferguson. She has worked on various T.V. Series, including "La Calle" and "La Golda,"  

A New Animated Children's Series created and directed by George Valencia. "The Kids"  is a web series about real kids' life stories living in NYC. 

Mellicent has worked on various Indie Films such as: "One Bedroom," winner of over 35  film festival awards, "Middle Of Nowhere," directed by Ava DuVernay, "#LIKE, RED  PILL" directed by Tonya Pinkins, "Supermodel," "The We And The I" directed by Michel  Gondry. 

She's worked on Various Commercials, Promos & PSA's for NFL+, NFL Apparel,  Verizon, Chevy Trucks, Kate Spade, Doritos, JC Penny, Clorox, Microsoft, Volkswagen,  AARP, Nike, Stella Artois, Clean & Clear, Sony, Coca-Cola (including two spots for  World Cup 2010), Gillette for World Cup 2010, Google, Samsung, Sprint, AT&T, NBA,  WBNA, Lysol, McDonald's, Denny's, Wrigley's Gum, Under Armor (Ft. Lindsay Vonn &  Shaun White). She has also worked on T.V. Pilots, Webisodes, and promos for Viacom,  ESPN, CMT, CBS, Lifetime, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV, VH1, BET, Tru T.V., Spike TV,  among many others. And a corporate industrial for Les Moonves (Chairman of CBS). 

Dyane*Foster has worked on hit music videos for Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus,  Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, Missy Elliot, Jay-Z, Jill Scott, JiDenna, Justin  Timberlake, Janelle Monae, Ne-Yo, Enrique Iglesias. Bon Jovi, Lindsay Lohan, Whitney  Houston, Mariah Carey, Marc Anthony, The Fugees "Guantanamera" & "Killing Me  Softly" (MTV Music Video Award Best R&B Video 1996), The Roots "What They Do" (MTV Buzz Clip). Janet Jackson, LeAnn Rhimes, Adam Levine, Kenya West, The  White Stripes, The Strokes, John Legend, David Bowie, Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, The  Jonas Brothers, Louis Fonsi, Becky G, Thalia, Natti Natasha, Romeo Santos, Aventura,  Ozuna, Prince Royce, Fat Joe, Cardi B, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Lou Reed, Luther  Vandross, Erykah Badu, Prince, Method Man, Aaliyah among many more. 

Cambridge Who's Who named her among the top 20 entrepreneurs from 2008 through  2012. She has been a 2-time recipient of Latinas Unidas, "Latina of the Year," an Award  for her contributions to the Latino community. She has been a member of several  charitable and civic organizations, including NYWIFT (New York Women in Film &  Television), NAMIC (National Association of Minorities in Communication), New York  Chapter Co-Chair of Membership 1997-2002. She was a former board member of  NYILFF (New York International Latino Film Festival). Mellicent is authoring two  books about her mother's inspirational life story and a cookbook on maintaining a salt free/caffeine-free organic and vegan diet. 



REQUIREMENTS

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.

All members must show a valid SAG-AFTRA card when they check in for the class.  No admittance will be granted without your current card or receipt.

NO LATE ARRIVALS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.

Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone.  Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time.  If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.

Please note that the 30-day frequency restriction applies to this workshop. Your last frequency-restricted workshop must have taken place no less than 30 (thirty) days prior to this event to be eligible to register
