SYNOPSIS

This in-person class will include a Q&A and an prepared reading session with New York based casting professional, Avani Parikh Dhar.

Participating actors will prepare and perform a scene of their choice from film or tv, two minutes in length or less.

ABOUT AVANI

Avani Parikh Dhar, also known as Chimera Casting, is an independent casting director based out of NYC, originally from India. She has been a part of the industry for over 16 years, casting out of India, the USA as well as the UK, Europe, South & South East Asia. With over 1000 commercial, international indie film & short film credits, Avani’s ethos is that while technique can be learned, the talent of acting should be nurtured from the wisdom within. She stumbled upon casting while working on a film in 2006 and enjoyed the process of working with acting talent so much that she segued into casting full-time in 2007. She casts for projects globally with a special focus on diversity.  

NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.

Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone.  Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time.  If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
