Synopsis
iZotope RX is the industry standard for audio repair. It is particularly useful in improving the sound of a raw record for commercial voiceovers, podcasts, and audiobooks. This session will be an introduction to this nearly magical piece of software. The session will cover the different RX Packages (Elements – Standard – Advanced), which Package may be most beneficial for you, and how to download and install RX from the iZotope Product Portal. The instructor will go over the various features, tools, and Modules of RX. Most especially the all-important Spectrogram. A Q& A will follow the presentation.
Be advised this session is designed for members who are extremely comfortable with self-recording on the DAW of their choice. This session is not appropriate for absolute beginners.
Requirements:
Having any version or package of iZotope RX downloaded, installed, and open on your computer is recommended and will be useful in following along. There is a 10-day free trial version with limited capability that participants may wish to download. Actually owning iZotope RX is not required. Be advised that iZotope is not a DAW. It is used in post production. This session is designed for members who are extremely comfortable self-recording and are interested in learning about this post production tool. Participants must remain for the duration of the session.
Intructor Bio
James Romick
James Romick, REAPER devote and instructor, is a Union Voice Actor and Audiobook Narrator. James uses REAPER and iZotope RX hand-in-hand to clean up and “sweeten” his audio. Admittedly being somewhat of a tech nerd, James actually enjoys the audio editing and mastering process.
