SYNOPSIS

This class will include a Q&A with New York based Casting Director Eve Pomerance, followed by a prepared work session. 

 Participating actors will prepare and submit a self-tape of a scene of their choice from film or tv, two minutes in length or less.  Submitted tapes will be viewed in class, followed by a live performance incorporating a redirect from the casting professional in class.  Additional preparation details will be sent upon confirmation.

This class is geared toward the early career actor looking to book their first co-star or guest star role in film or tv.


ABOUT EVE

Eve Pomerance has worked in the film industry since 1989 when  she did her first production management job, for the BBC for  director, Frances Anne Solomon. She went on to work for ICM as  an assistant Talent Agent in 1993. Eve subsequently produced  six full length feature films, including: “How To Kill”  directed by Dusan Lazarevic, “The Hottest Day of The Year”  directed by Dusan Lazarevic, “As Good As Dead,” directed by  Jonathan Mossek, starring: Andie Macdowell, Cary Elwes, Frank  Whaley and Brian Cox (Millenium Films) “Festival of Light,”  (Executive Produced and cast) starring Aidan Quinn and Jimi  Mistry. “Bayou Caviar” for director Cuba Gooding Jr. “Son of  The South.” The cast includes: Lucas Till, Lucy Hale, Brian  Dennehy, Julia Ormond, Dexter Darden, Cedric the Entertainer  and Sienna Guillory.  

As a Casting Director Eve also cast some International movies  such as: “ “Remember Me” directed by Martin Rosete starring:  Bruce Dern, Brian Cox and Sienna Guillory, (Universal  Pictures) “Tim Maia,” and “O Jao Maestro” for Brazilian  director Mauro Lima. “June” for director Yang Wang starring  Miao Miao and Aaron Kwock. Also “Additional casting on” “The  Mimic” starring Jake Robinson, Austin Pendelton and Gina  Gershon.  

Television Casting 

For television Eve cast “Pilgrims” and “Dante” for director  Ric Burns. “Pilgrims” aired on PBS and “Dante” aired on Rye TV  in 2022 and will be aired on PBS in the Spring of 2024. “I Do”  Web- Series for director Nathalie Schmidt.  

In 2022 Eve cast Melissa Leo and Geza Rohrig in, “After  Bringing The Dead Back To Life” by Richard Kroehling. Eve also  cast the short film, “Venus” for director Esmeralda Seay Reynolds. Eve also cast, “Order of The Flesh” for director  Jason Mann.  

In 2023 Eve is currently casting Bille August’s film, “Me,  You,” “Mob Kid” for director Alex Zamm and “Da Vinci and Me” for director Gabriela Tagliavini. Eve recently cast the  podcast pilot, “Replica” for director Christian D. Bruun,  starring: Scottie Thompson, Reed Birney, David Lansbury and  Judi Beecher.  

Other casting credits include Sony’s hit game “Until Dawn,”  which she sourced writers for and cast. The game starred the  then unknown actor Rami Malek (his first appearance.)  

Eve currently has several films in development with her  company, Major Motion Pictures and a 6-Part TV Series called,  “Summoner” being directed by Gabriela Tagliavini. (“Casa  Grande” and “Christmas With You”) 

Eve is working with Michael Mailer on a 2-Part Crime Trilogy  called, “Brooklyn Black” which she co-wrote and is producing with Oliver Mahrdt. Eve is also currently producer and casting  director on, “Order of The Flesh” a Sci-Fi movie starring  Sophia the robot.

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.

Please note that the 30-day frequency restriction applies to this class. Your last frequency-restricted class must have taken place no less than 30 (thirty) days prior to this event to be eligible to register. 

NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
