SYNOPSIS

This class will feature a Q&A with LA based Casting Director Brian Sutow, followed by a prepared reading session.

Participating actors will prepare and perform a scene that will be assigned by the casting director ahead of class. 


CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

Brian Sutow is an Artios and Heller Award nominated Casting Director & Associate Casting Director in the LA office of a large, bi-coastal casting company, where he works on projects for TV, film and occasionally theater. TV casting credits include shows such as This is Us (NBC), Atypical (Netflix) The Big Leap (Fox) and Beauty & The Beast: A 30th Anniversary Celebration (ABC/Disney+). Film credits include All Together Now (Netflix) and the upcoming films The Idea of You (Amazon), and Snow White (Disney). He has also cast many major commercials for brands such as Best Buy, Old Navy and Taco Bell. 

Brian has worn many different creative hats in his lifetime. He is a former Equity actor, a Helen Hayes Award winning theater producer, and a former Kennedy Center Playwright in Residence. In his free time, he continues to pursue his passion for writing and directing, and also is enjoying his new role as a dad. He is a proud alum of UNCSA.

 

REQUIREMENTS

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.

All members must show a valid SAG-AFTRA card when they check in for the class.  No admittance will be granted without your current card or receipt.

NO LATE ARRIVALS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.

Cancellations are required by midnight the night before a class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone.  Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time.  If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
