SYNOPSIS
This class will include a Q&A with LA based Casting Director Valerie McCaffery, followed by a prepared work session.
Participating actors will choose, prepare and perform sides or a monologue from film, television or theatre.
Additional preparation details will be sent upon RSVP confirmation.
BIO
As an independent casting director coming from the studio level, Valerie uses her knowledge and her eye for talent to the producing capacity as well. She recently produced a film called “Here’s Yianni” with cast members Julia Ormond, Kevin Pollak, Rosanna Arquette, Joseph Cortese and Eric Roberts. She is also the Executive Producer on the upcoming comedy “Not Another Church Movie” with actors Kevin Daniels, Mickey Rourke, Kyla Pratt, Lamore Morris and Vivica Fox. She also cast and produced film entitled NEO NED, starring Gabrielle Union and Jeremy Renner. Her other previous films which she cast and produced is “Lost and Found in Armenia” with Angela Sarafyan and Jamie Kennedy...and the upcoming action sci-fi film called “Kaia From April 1994-2000, Valerie held the position of Vice President of Feature Film Casting for New Line/Fine Line Films. During her tenure at New Line/Fine Line, Ms. McCaffrey cast scores of films, developing strong relationships with all major talent agencies and management firms. Among the many highlights, she cast Edward Norton and Eddie Furlong in New Line Cinema’s AMERICAN HISTORY X. Mr. Norton received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his gripping portrayal and Mr. Furlong’s performance was heralded as the best of his career.
She just finished casting indie film, JUMP and is in the process of casting several indie films including Mixxer, Kaia (a large budget action film) and Delilah.
REQUIREMENTS
You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.
NO LATE ARRIVALS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
Cancellations are required by the specified cancellation date for that class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone. Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a six month ineligibility period. DO NOT BE LATE. Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time. If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.
Attendance for the entirety of the class is required or it will be counted as a no-show.
The use of any type of gun or weapon props are prohibited in classes.
