Friday, August 30, 2024

Thursday, August 29, 2024

Synopsis

Join REAPER devotee James Romick for an introduction to one of the most versatile digital audio software programs for use in home studios. This session will cover how to install REAPER, set-up tracks, record takes, edit errors, add basic effects and export a final file. Students do not need to have prior knowledge of REAPER but be advised there can be a steep learning curve with this particular DAW. All levels welcome but this session my prove challenging to members who are brand new to self-recording.  Clickable resources and video of the session will be provided to all attendees post-class.

Requirements

Participants must log onto Zoom during the check-in window and remain for the duration of the session.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

James Romick

James Romick has been a member of SAG-AFTRA since 1980.  Between acting gigs in the mid 1980s, James also studied audio engineering at The Institute of Audio Research in NYC when editing analog magnetic tape with a splicing block and razor blade was the norm. Although he has a working knowledge of many different DAWs, James prefers to record VO and his audiobooks with REAPER. Take this session and learn why.
