SYNOPSIS

This class will include a Q&A with LA based Casting Director Sharon Lieblein, followed by a prepared work session. 

Sharon will assign sides to prepare a several days before the start of class.


BIO

Sharon Lieblein, Artios winning casting director, continues to have an illustrious career spanning over two decades. She was instrumental in discovering such talent as Ariana Grande, Emma Roberts, Lily Collins, Josh Peck, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, Elizabeth Gillies, Avan Jogia, Shameik Moore, and Gabriel Iglesias, among many others. She has cast film and television projects and has currently entered the world of English Language Dubbing as the in-house casting director for Deluxe.

Some projects with her former partner Fern Champion include The Shuru Process (EmCo Prods), A Murder to Remember (Lifetime), You Can’t Take My Daughter (Lifetime), Charming the Hearts of Men (Liberty House), The Greenhouse (Netflix), Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta (Lifetime), Terror in the Woods (Lifetime), For the Love of the Land (Hallmark), Christmas Wishes (Hallmark), Sun Records (CMT), Phoenix Forgotten (Scott Free/Cinelou), Surviving Compton (Lifetime), Beaches (Lifetime), and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (Amazon). 

Before partnering with Ms. Champion, Sharon served as Vice President of casting and Talent Development for Cartoon Network. She oversaw live-action talent and casting for the Studio. She was responsible for identifying, casting, and managing talent appearing in their scripted and alternative live-action projects.

Before her tenure at Cartoon Network, Sharon spent 13 years at Nickelodeon Networks, where she served as Vice President of Talent & Casting. Her responsibilities included overseeing all live-action casting for pilots, TV series, movies, specials, and promos. She was instrumental in casting several top-rated shows, including iCarly, Big Time Rush, Victorious, Zoey 101, and Drake and Josh.

Prior to Nickelodeon, Sharon worked as an independent and in-house casting director on various feature and television projects. Her early career included working on the Witt-Thomas Productions of The John Larroquette Show (NBC) and Pearl (CBS). Sharon has been an active Casting Society of America (CSA) member since 1995, serving as VP for four years. She has also been a member of the Television Academy since 1996, having served the Academy governance for over 16 years combined. Currently, she is in her second term as Vice Chair of the Academy (2022-2026) and a member of the Executive Committee and the DEIA Task Force. Previously as Secretary and Governor of the Casting Peer Group and Membership Committee Chair. Additionally, Sharon has been Chair and Vice Chair of the Looking Ahead program of the Entertainment Community Fund (fka The Actor’s Fund), serving young performers ages 9 – 18 for over 15 years.


REQUIREMENTS

You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.

NO LATE ARRIVALS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.

Cancellations are required by the specified cancellation date for that class. Cancellation can only be made via the website. You cannot cancel your RSVP via email or phone.  Those who have been seated by the start date are expected to comply. You must cancel your reservation before the start date if you cannot comply, or you will face a 90-day ineligibility period.  DO NOT BE LATE.  Check-in begins 15 minutes to the class start time.  If you arrive after the start time, you will not be admitted and it will be counted as a no-show.

Attendance for the entirety of the class is required or it will be counted as a no-show.

The use of any type of gun or weapon props are prohibited in classes.
