Synopsis:

Join award winning audiobook narrator, Megan Tusing, for an introductory class to the world of audiobooks. The class will begin with a brief lecture where Megan will share her insights about both the business and performance side of the audiobook industry.  Following the lecture a few pre-determined readers will have an opportunity to perform a section of self-selected text and receive feedback. The class will wrap up with a Q&A addressing any audiobook related questions from both readers and auditors alike.

NOTE ABOUT READERS : This class will have a very limited number of seats for readers before it is marked 'full' and the waitlist is opened.  If you wish to audit the class (i.e. listen and watch only without the opportunity to read), please add your name to the waitlist. All members on the waitlist will be considered seated as auditors. If you do not wish to attend as an auditor, please refrain from putting your name on the waitlist. Readers will be confirmed and sent instructions via email a few days prior to class.

Requirements:

Readers must provide a piece of text from a published book of any genre to work on during class. The selection should be no more than 2 minutes in length. It is not required but recommended that the selection include narration and dialogue if it is fiction. This is a virtual class held over Zoom. Please join the session from a quiet place with a stable internet connection. All participants (both readers and auditors) are required to remain for the duration of the session.

Instructor Bio:

Megan Tusing

Megan Tusing is an actor, award-winning audiobook narrator, producer and coach raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia, now based in Brooklyn. She developed a love of storytelling and a passion for language at a young age when first introduced to William Shakespeare (theatre camp nerd here!), which eventually led her to pursue a career in acting. She has recorded over 350 audiobooks with such publishers as Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Hachette, Harper Collins, and Macmillan, as well as indie authors. She also runs her own audio production company, Little But Fierce Productions®. She has numerous credits in stage, film, and television and is a proud alumni of James Madison University.  When not on stage or in the booth, she can be found knitting in the company of good friends.  Find her at www.megantusing.com or on IG, Twitter or FB @megantusing.
