STEFANIE BLACK (she/her) is one of the original founding members and current Artistic Director of IAMA Theatre Company. Over the last ten years, Stefanie has paved the way for over a hundred new plays, both in development and production. She has overseen over 20 world premieres, as well as 5 west coast premieres, most notably, the world premiere of Leslye Headland’s Cult of Love, opening on Broadway in 2024. Her tenure at IAMA has seen the creation of the Rhimes Unsung Voices Playwriting Commission and over 8 other commissions, for both new plays and musicals, as well as the inaugural Emerging Playwrights Lab, an investment into the next generation of Los Angeles based playwrights.

Her dedication to supporting emerging playwrights and directors has become the calling card of IAMA. Stefanie has committed to supporting and ushering the new wave of diversity and equity in Los Angeles theatre by committing to the dismantling of white supremacy. Under her leadership, IAMA seeks to be a model for the new standard of anti-racist practices in the theatre. As an actor, director, and filmmaker, Stefanie is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA, AEA, and Film Fatales.
