SYNOPSIS
Ready to ditch the announcer sound and modernize your commercial reads? Join acclaimed voice talent Donna Jay Fulks for a fast-paced fun workshop that will revolutionize your approach to commercial copy. Working with thirty second scripts, Donna will direct readers to experiment with tone, play with the given circumstances and explode imaginary boundaries in order to lift the words off the page in a way that is uniquely their own.
Format
This session will have a limited number of READER spots which will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Once reader slots are filled, the class will be marked “full” and the waitlist will be opened.
If you wish to AUDIT (watch, listen, ask questions but not read) the class, please add your name to the waitlist. All those on the waitlist will be considered auditors. Attendance rules will apply to auditors.
Instructor Bio
Donna Jay Fulks studied acting at NYU and Columbia College Chicago. She is an accomplished voice actor who has decades of experience in all facets of the industry. Donna has worked on multitudes of commercial campaigns and, notably, was the exclusive voice of JcPenney for a decade. She has voiced promos for many networks and proudly served as the voice of The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) for several years. She traveled as Ms. Winfrey’s live announcer during her 2014 tour. Animation projects include the role of Longclaw in the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, and she can currently be heard as Trish Tilby in X-Men ’97 on Disney+. She recently appeared as the “Voice of VSN” on Showtime’s I Love That For You. Her VO skills have translated to parodies for SNL, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Ellen Show. Donna also has VO experience in radio imaging, tv affiliate promo, game show announcing, audio books, industrial narration, dubbing, ADR and video games.
