SYNOPSIS

This class is educational and will provide important information about commercial Voiceover for actors at all levels.  In this class, Omalolu will share some of the acting tools helpful in voicing commercials along with insights on:

  • Setup & Software
  • Vocal Preparation and Maintenance
  • Audition Mindset
  • Success in Nailing the Job
  • Ability to Develop/Maintain Repeat Client Relations

Omalolu will listen to a  few mock commercial auditions submitted by actors attending the class. and offer feedback, as well as direction.  There will also be a  short Q&A session at. the end of the class to address questions.


INSTRUCTOR BIO

Omalolu Fiki is an actor, voiceover artist, coach/teacher and comedian who graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2019. Since then, she has become an unstoppable force in the commercial voice over world. In less than 3 years, she has voiced over 50 regional and national commercials for brands such American Express, CarMax, and MedStar Health, boasting a repeat client base! Omalolu has also become a familiar voice in gaming and animation with credits in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, Delta Force Black Hawk Down and Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. Beyond her own journey, Omalolu is a generous and passionate teacher and coach; One of the most exciting aspects of her journey has been lifting up those around her and guiding them along their own journey.


REQUIREMENTS

This class is virtual and will take place over Zoom.  The Join Details (Zoom link and other related information) will be emailed to those on the RSVP list no later than 1 hour before the start time of the class

Submitting a recorded audition is voluntary and is not required to attend the class.  

Audition Details: Class participants will have an opportunity to submit a voiceover audition recorded from home and possibly have it reviewed by our instructor in class.  Commercial scripts and additional submission instructions will be distributed the week of April 6, 2025 and will be due for review on Monday, April 14, 2025.  Note: Due to time constraints, not all submitted auditions will be reviewed in class.

There will be a limited number of readers and/or audition submission reviews for this class.  

Attendees are expected to attend the entire program (see Duration above).

Scripts and other related materials will be provided by the Voiceover Lab.
