Synopsis

Curious about dubbing work? Join award winning dynamic duo Paulette Lifton and Mimi Maynard for an opportunity to experiment in this area of VO in a safe and supportive environment. In this workshop readers will be given the opportunity to work to picture and experience first-hand the pace, timing and thrill of dubbing both animation and live-action scripts. Based on their decades of experience, Paulette and Mimi will offer tips, tricks and feedback on how to master this niche area of voiceover. 

Format

This session will have a limited number of readers that will be selected on a first come first serve basis. Once the class is full, the waitlist will be opened for auditors. Auditors will be given the opportunity to watch, listen and ask questions but will not read. 


Instructor Bios

Mimi Maynard is an award-winning actress who has spent the last 15+ years working as producer, casting director and voice director for animated features and English dubbing of international films, documentaries, and series. She voiced directed Sammy’s Adventures: The Secret Passage, the first stereoscopic 3-D animated feature, which grossed over $100M, won the Trophée du Film Français (Le Trophée de L’Oeuvre Européenne) and was a Nominee for the Best Animation and Cartoon Movie Tribute Awards at the European Film Awards.

Paulette Victor Lifton is a Post Producer, Supervising Sound Editor, Dubbing & Localization Producer, Voice Casting & Voice Director. Paulette launched her career in post-production as an AVID editor on feature films and music videos for HBO, Showtime, SyFy, Biography & CMT. As a commercial producer and music video editor, she worked in Nashville for Garth Brooks, Travis Tritt and Clint Black. She expanded her expertise to include the position of Supervising Sound Editor, Voice Casting Director, Dubbing Producer and ADR Supervisor for Nickelodeon Animation, DisneyToon, DreamWorks Animation, MTV, Spike, VH1, Lionsgate, Miramax, The Weinstein Co., CBS, NBC and FOX. She has won 2 Emmys (3 nominations) and 6 MPSE Awards (20 nominations) for her work in Television and Feature sound. Paulette has voice directed A-list talent including Meryl Streep, Kate McKinnon, Andy Serkis, Jen Keong, Jim Gaffigan, Zoe Saldana, Mel Brooks and Ed Norton. She has written, directed and produced films for HBO Family and Showtime. Paulette has served as Co-Chair for the AP Council and National Board of Directors for Producers Guild of America (PGA) and is currently on the TV Board for Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild (MPSE). She also is Co-Founder of Voice Masters which teaches voiceover for animation, video games, commercials, audiobooks and business marketing. Her podcast is Tales from the Booth - an inside look at the voiceover world.
