SYNOPSIS
ADR (Automated / Automatic Dialogue Replacement) is often referred to as "Looping" and is a side of voiceover that many actors are unaware of, but have undoubtedly heard it in action when watching a movie or television show. For example, a scene in your favorite TV show takes place in the emergency room of a busy hospital. In the scene you hear background chatter that includes multiple conversations, medical terminology and some dialogue over the intercom system. Those voices are providing ambience and helping the scene sound authentic to an emergency room. That is a component of ADR or Looping. In this class, veteran ADR Coordinator and Casting Director, Johnny Gidcomb will provide an overview of ADR and share his insights, the do's and don'ts and other important details about this genre of voiceover acting..
